The City of New Orleans and JOB1 understands the important role businesses play in the local economy and quality of life. We actively partner with qualified employers that are looking to expand or relocate within Orleans Parish, providing these eligible organizations with business solutions that meet the specific needs of our employer partners.

The JOB1 Business and Career Solutions Center represents the workforce development arm of the City of New Orleans, and offers an array of business development programs and initiatives to assist with starting and growing your business. Serving as the hub of local Workforce Development initiatives, we provide employment and training services federally funded through the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA).

The JOB1 Business and Career Solutions is part of a network of workforce partners that provide services to various job seeker populations and employers. The JOB1 partner programs include:

 

  • Business Networking and Educational Events
  • Business Advisory Councils and employer forums
  • Collaboration and partnerships with Regional, State, and Local Business and Economic Development Organizations
  • Promotion of opportunities via Social Media and other electronic platforms

Employer Services Include

  • On-the-Job Training—Wage subsidies to employers for costs associated with training employees on the job for up to six months.
  • Customized Training—Training designed to meet the special requirements of an employer or group of employers. The employer must commit to employ or continue to employ an individual upon successful completion of the training.
